  • Mark Lewis_Trainer_All Pride Fitness

    Mark Lewis - Trainer

My name is Mark Lewis, I’m a trainer at All Pride Fitness.

For most of my life I suffered from debilitating depression and anxiety, and I developed very unhealthy coping mechanisms such as drug addiction and alcoholism.

In 2011, I was finally able to get sober and start living a more positive life helping others kick their addictions, but there was still something missing. I was smoking a pack of cigarettes every day, and living on tv dinners and ramen noodles. My energy was very low, and I was losing weight. I was still struggling with anxiety, and my self confidence was non-existent.

Finally, I found fitness — and I fell in love with it. I was unsure of myself in the beginning, so I started working out at 5:00 a.m. to avoid the embarrassment of a crowded gym, and me not knowing what I was doing.

It didn’t take long for my energy levels to increase, and I noticed that my anxiety was gone. I suddenly had more self confidence, and I was putting on weight fairly quickly. I had found a positive way to deal with my depression and the stress of daily life.

Today I use my gym time to relieve stress and feel good about myself, and I encourage others to do the same. I want my personal training clients to focus on the positive effects fitness can have on their mental health and energy levels.

Instead of punishing yourself for over-eating last weekend, or obsessing on weight loss, I want you to enjoy your gym time and focus on getting stronger. As your stress levels fall, and your energy increases, exercise will become something you look forward to — and your body will change in the process.

I’m here to help others achieve their goals, so don’t hesitate to say hello and ask any questions you have!
